Toyota Motor Corp. is now recalling special optional floormats that were sold in Maine and other states with almost 55,000 of its Camry pessenger car, because it has been found that they may cause the gas pedals to be stuck, producing crashes. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a consumer advisory regarding the mats, citing potential uncontrollable acceleration that may be caused by the "all-weather" mats. Furthermore, the NHTSA urges all drivers to be sure the driver's-side floormats in their vehicles are secure. Cached copy until 7:51:02 PM
